Reasons Why Real Madrid VS. Manchester City UCL Semi Final 2022 Result will go in favor of Real Madrid
Shobhit Chandola – Mumbai Uncensored, 5th May 2022
All eyes are set for the Champions League Semi Final Leg 2 which is to be played between the two dominant teams of Europe- Real Madrid & Manchester City. Just a week ago, we witnessed the aggressive scoreline of 4-3 between ManCity & Real Madrid which was one of its kind played at the Etihad Stadium & now is followed up with 2nd Leg at Santiago Bernabeu to be played on 5th May @ 12:30 IST. It has sparked the excitement worldwide once again as it is being seen as the Close encounter. But still there is a belief that Guardiola’s led Man City can be overshadowed by Carlos Ancelotti’s Real Madrid. Find out the reason why Man City can suffer big blow below:
Home Advantage for RMA: Well, the 2nd leg is being played at Santiago Bernabeu so now the vibes and atmosphere will be quite different. Adding to the fact that just after losing out the UCL leg 1 against City, Real defeated Espanyol FC 4-0 to clinch their 35th Laliga Title. This is good enough for Real to be motivated to the point that they can outclass City as City holds just a lead of 1 goal. What adds to the fact is that Carlos Ancelotti’s press conference interview where he looked pretty confident on his side making magic at their Home stadium. He even kept on saying that the Big thing for the RMA is playing Final at Stade de France and hinted at retiring post final. Thus, making the Team bid a perfect farewell and double up Ancelotti’s title tally of 2 UCL titles with RMA..
Benzema’s Surreal Form: Whosoever is following UCL 2022, checking on Real’s surreal campaign and is a Madridsta knows how good Benzema’s run for Real Madrid has been since the departure of CR7. His role now as a centre forward with 42 goals and 13 assists speaks of the volume of the Frenchman’s class. If the guy can score a hattrick within 17 minutes against PSG in Round of 16 changing the scoreline from 0-2 to 3-2 by full time and score a decider goal against the dangerous looking Chelsea to win on Aggregate 5-4 in Quarter Final, he surely can run riot in this crucial gateway to UCL Final 2022.
Overthinking Guardiola: Often hailed as one of the GOAT in Managers, Guardiola enjoys tremendous success with City in the Premier League & Carabao / FA Cups but the same side looks vulnerable which is quite evident with the City’s Champions league run under Guardiola where they have lost to Monaco on away goals on 2016-17, 1-5 to Liverpool in the 2018 UCL Quarterfinals with a surprising 3-3-1-3 formation, losing out to Tottenham on away goals, 1-3 against Lyon due to ill defending in 2nd half & most recently 0-1 against Chelsea in UCL 2021 Final with a debatable substitutions of KDB & Silva which cost them their 1st Champions League title. Moreover there will be pressure on him to repeat his feat with City just like a dream run with Barcelona after a decade where he clinched 2 Champions league titles but getting less credited for Management skills & being overshadowed by the Football experts with the phrases that his side was talented and perfect & never an underdogs.
Time Tested Team of Real Madrid: When we look at the performances of the Club in the Champions League since its inception, it is the Real Madrid which boasts of the record 13 titles with only Milan coming near with 7 titles and the likes of Liverpool & Bayern Munich still behind with almost twice the multiplication of the titles required to be at par with UCL titles. Real has been a historical club with the record breaking hat trick spree of 2016, 2017 & 2018 which is almost impossible to break in the coming time. This makes them high on spirit which City certainly lacks. Adding to the fact the City has looked glittering in the 1st half but have concealed goals more than often in the 2nd half which seems to be the perfect opportunity for the ‘Kings of Comebacks’
The cricket team from Pakistan arrived in India on Wednesday under heavy security as it gets ready to compete in the next, seven-week World Cup. Pakistan is travelling to India for the first time since 2016, and as the team’s captain Babar Azam and other players arrived at the airport in Hyderabad, large groups of enthusiastic fans shouted and chanted their names while being restrained by security agents. On October 5, the ODI competition is set to begin, and Pakistan will play their first match the following day.
Political difficulties between India and Pakistan have a long history, hence the two countries’ international matches are mainly limited to regional and global competitions. However, Pakistan was given a warm welcome in India on Wednesday, and the players posted about it on their official social media account. Babar Azam, the team’s captain, Shaheen Afridi, and wicketkeeper-batter Mohammad Rizwan were among the players to express gratitude to the Indian government and crowd on social media.
The World Cup will consist of 48 games played over 46 days at 10 different venues, with the championship game taking place on November 19. Pakistan will play two exhibition games, one on September 29 against New Zealand and the other on October 3 against Australia, both in Hyderabad. After evaluating the security measures for a significant festival that day, the game against New Zealand will be played behind closed doors.
Babar added that the sid is not under any pressure but will miss its fans when it plays the World Cup matches in India during his pre-departure press conference in Pakistan.
“We’re all happy of the World Cup trip we took. We haven’t played in India before, but we don’t feel any pressure. We’ve done our investigation, and we’ve heard that the circumstances are comparable to those in other Asian nations. Being the captain this time around is an honour, and I sincerely hope we return with a trophy.
We shall regrettably be without the supporters. We will play in crowded stadiums since, as far as I know, all of the games are sold out. Even though they won’t be present, our followers will still show their support by posting on social media. Although I have not personally witnessed it yet, I have heard that Indian fans also display their devotion, which makes me want to play there as well.
During the Asia Cup final cricket match between India and Sri Lanka in Colombo, Sri Lanka, India’s Mohammed Siraj celebrates the wicket of Sri Lanka’s Dhananjaya de Silva.
Mohammed Siraj, an Indian fast bowler, has recaptured the top spot in the ODI bowler rankings in advance of the ICC World Cup. Siraj advanced eight spots as a result of his outstanding performance in the Asia Cup final against Sri Lanka. He rose to the top spot because to his outstanding performance spell in which he needed only 6/21 to bowl out Sri Lanka for just 50 runs. Siraj had dropped to second place in March of this year, but he has since surpassed elite bowlers like Mitchell Starc, Rashid Khan, and Trent Boult.
Siraj’s comeback to the top of the standings is a huge boost for India as the World Cup approaches. His current form and consistency have made him an invaluable asset for the club, and he has replaced Mohammed Shami, who missed the majority of the Asia Cup this month, as the first choice in the playing XI.
Along with Siraj, Mujeeb Ur Rahman and Rashid Khan, two Afghan spinners, saw an increase in their rankings. Rashid Khan is currently rated fifth in the ODI bowling rankings, while Mujeeb Ur Rahman is currently ranked fourth. Both spinners have contributed significantly to Afghanistan’s limited-overs cricket success and will be essential to their team’s World Cup run.
Keshav Maharaj of South Africa, who finished outside the top 10, had a remarkable rise in the rankings. Maharaj climbed ten spots to number 15 in the rankings, a career-high performance, because to his performance in the most recent ODI series against Australia, where he claimed eight wickets at an average of 16.87 and an economy rate of just 4.07 per over.
Heinrich Klaasen of South Africa moved up one spot to ninth in the ODI batting rankings after an outstanding performance against Australia in the fourth ODI, in which he scored 174 runs at a 209.64 strike rate. Ben Stokes, who recently announced his retirement, made an incredible return to ODI cricket at The Oval with a stunning 182-run innings, moving him up to position 36 in the rankings.
Tuesday night, Sri Lanka narrowly advanced to the Asia Cup Super 4 stage with a thrilling two-run triumph. Tuesday’s last group game was dramatic as Afghanistan’s quest of a difficult goal took an unexpected turn. Based on estimations of the net run rate, Afghanistan briefly appeared to be in position to eliminate Sri Lanka from the competition; for them to join Bangladesh in moving out of Group B, they needed to reach a daunting 292-run mark in 37.1 overs. Afghanistan, however, didn’t appear to be aware of a critical calculation: they might have still advanced to the Super 4 by scoring 295 runs in the following three deliveries.
The 11th batter, Fazalhaq Farooqi, held off the following two balls from the part-time spinner de Silva in an exciting turn of events. Rashid Khan was unfortunately left stranded at the non-striker’s end as he was called out for a leg before wicket on the third delivery. As a result, Afghanistan’s innings was ended after 289 runs in 37.4 overs, falling just short of the necessary total and giving Sri Lanka a dramatic victory.
Afghanistan’s ability to reach the Super Fours
If they had been able to hit certain run targets at crucial times, they might have been able to surpass Sri Lanka in terms of net run rate. Here are several crucial run targets:
after 37.2 overs, 37.3 overs, 37.5 overs, 296 over 38 overs, or 297 over 38.1.
They needed their No. 11 Fazalhaq Farooqi to do the feats of valour in order to accomplish this. He had the opportunity to reach these goals by hitting a four on the first ball of the 38th over, a six on the third, fourth, or fifth delivery, or even by taking a single to give Rashid, who was batting at 27 runs off 16 balls, the chance to try and win the match on his own. The game was on the verge of being decided by a single run, but Sri Lanka eventually maintained composure to win handily.
It’s interesting to note that Jonathan Trott, the head coach of Afghanistan, said that the side had not been informed of all the specifics of the various target situations. Trott claims that Afghanistan was only aware that they needed to reach the mark in 37.1 overs.
Due to Afghanistan’s elimination from the group stage, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka joined Group A’s India and Pakistan in making it to the Super Fours stage of the Asia Cup. Bangladesh had recently thrashed Afghanistan in Lahore by a commanding 89-run margin.
