ANUSHKA PATHAK – Mumbai Uncensored, 15 January 2022

The Mumbai Crime Branch seized a drug worth Rs 16.10 crore on Wednesday night (January 12, 2022) from SMD Road, Antop Hill. The police arrested three people in possession of the drug and all the three have been sent to the custody of the Crime Branch for further investigation.

Some sources say, neither of the three accused were aware of the exact value of the drug, and were going to sell it in the market at a negotiable price.

According to the Mumbai Crime Branch, three people were detained in Antop Hill. They were found to be in possession of 16 kg and 100 grams of drug Methaqualone worth Rs 16.10 crore.

Neelotpal, DCP Detection, Mumbai Crime Branch said, “The accused have been nabbed and further investigation is on to find the source and beneficiaries of the contraband.”

The three people arrested have been identified as Imran Jhalori, Amjad Khan and Asif Arab. They are residents of Antop Hill and live in the same building. They are daily wage earners.

The Crime Branch found that the contraband was stored in a godown and its owner passed away last year in November. The police declined to give more information about the godown owner as they are investigating how he came into possession of the drug. The godown was used to store mobile phone accessories and chargers, etc.

A police officer informed, “Jhalori used to work in the godown and was asked by the owner before his death to dispose off something that was kept in a packet. But he was not told that it was the drug”.

After the owner’s death, instead of disposing of the drug, Jhalori tried to find out what was in the packet and decided to sell it. “He may or may not have had an idea about the drug but he wasn’t aware about its actual value. He then contacted some drug dealers and finalized the price for Rs 5 lakh,” the officer added.

The police also found 48 kg worth of raw materials used for making synthetic drugs.

An FIR has been registered against the trio under relevant sections of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. All the accused were produced before the Killa Court and remanded in Mumbai Police Crime Branch custody till January 20.

Controversial ‘Annapoorani’ Sparks FIR for Alleged Promotion of Love Jihad; Contrasts Netflix’s Refusal of ‘The Kerala Story’

Siddhant Mohite, Mumbai:

Nayanthara’s milestone 75th film, ‘Annapoorani: The Goddess of Food,’ has landed in hot water as an FIR has been filed against the movie by the Mumbai police. A complaint lodged at LT Marg Police Station alleges that the film promotes Love Jihad, citing a scene where actor Jai makes a controversial statement about Lord Ram’s dietary preferences, causing hurt to religious sentiments. This development comes after the movie’s digital premiere on Netflix faced criticism, with the Hindu IT Cell filing a formal complaint with Mumbai police, accusing the film of misrepresenting Valmiki’s Ramayana and criticizing Lord Ram.

Directed by Nilesh Krishnaa, ‘Annapoorani’ features Nayanthara, Jai, and Sathyaraj in lead roles, hitting theaters on December 1, 2023. Despite the movie’s milestone status, it received a lukewarm response at the box office, grossing Rs 5 crore.

According to reports from The Republic, the complaint alleges that a particular scene in the movie portrays actor Jai asserting that Lord Ram was a meat eater, leading to an offense against religious sentiments. The controversy intensified after the film’s digital release on the OTT platform Netflix.

The narrative of ‘Annapoorani: The Goddess of Food’ revolves around a girl aspiring to become a chef. As the daughter of a Hindu temple pujari, she faces challenges in preparing non-vegetarian food. The movie sparked controversy for a scene depicting her performing the Islamic prayer Namaz with a scarf covering her head before a cooking competition. Nayanthara’s character in the film recalls a friend’s comment that her Biryani tasted exceptional when prepared after performing Namaz. This scene has stirred controversy, as it is seen as offensive to religious sentiments.

Adding to the unfolding controversy is the fact that Netflix, a prominent OTT platform, chose to release ‘Annapoorani,’ despite its contentious content. This decision has raised eyebrows, especially in light of the platform’s refusal to release the movie ‘The Kerala Story,’ which exposed Love Jihad, further amplifying concerns within the Hindu community.

The Mumbai police’s decision to file an FIR against ‘Annapoorani’ reflects the seriousness of the allegations, and as this situation evolves, Mumbai Uncensored will continue to monitor and report on developments surrounding this controversial film.

Corruption Scandal Unveiled: BMC Officials Accused of Siphoning Off Crores Meant for Laborers in Mumbai’s Cleanliness Schemes

Siddhant Mohite, Mumbai Uncensored, 7th December 2023:

Mumbai Uncensored has unearthed a shocking case of corruption involving high-ranking officials in the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC). The scandal, exposed by social worker Mr. Rameez Raja, reveals a systematic embezzlement of funds intended for laborers engaged in the Swachhata Yojna, Motor Loading, Manning & Mopping Scheme.

In 2007, BMC initiated these schemes, employing laborers through registered NGOs. Alarming details emerged regarding their paltry daily wages, which ranged from Rs. 141 in early 2007 to a marginal increase of Rs. 144 to Rs. 146 in 2008. Concerns over unjust wages prompted BMC’s standing committee to pass resolutions in 2010 and 2011, specifying minimum wages for laborers through circulars dated 30.4.2011 and 2.9.2021.

However, Mumbai Uncensored’s investigation reveals a nefarious plot within the BMC’s Western Suburbs (Zone 3). SWM Executive Engineer Mr. Chandan Shive, along with a network of SWM officials, allegedly manipulated funds. Instead of ensuring fair compensation to NGOs and, consequently, laborers, these officials diverted a substantial portion—estimated between 20-22 crores—for personal gain.

Trusted sources affirm that Mr. Rameez Raja, a vigilant social worker, has sent a detailed letter to the Chief Minister outlining the corruption. Raja emphasizes the urgent need for a thorough investigation and the suspension of implicated BMC officials. The funds, he insists, rightfully belong to the laborers who toiled diligently to maintain the city’s cleanliness.

Mumbai Uncensored has obtained a copy of a letter from Mr. Hemant Sawant, additional deputy commissioner of the Anti-Corruption Department, Mumbai. Addressed to BMC Commissioner Mr. Iqbal Singh Chahal, the letter lists multiple complaints received from citizens, the Maharashtra Government, and the Director General of the Anti-Corruption Bureau. Despite these grave allegations, no visible actions have been taken by the BMC.

This revelation raises serious questions about the integrity of BMC officials and their commitment to addressing corruption within their ranks. Mumbai Uncensored will continue to investigate and report on this matter to ensure accountability and justice for the laborers who deserve their rightful compensation.

Ansari Fauzan Mohammad Irfan Momin

A distressing incident has come to light where a 23-year-old woman working at a credit card company became a victim of blackmail and pressure from a man she once helped get a credit card. Identified as Ansari Fauzan Mohammad Irfan Momin, he allegedly threatened her with explicit content to force her into marriage and religious conversion.

The sequence of incidents began innocently enough when the victim, working diligently at a credit card company, contacted Ansari Fauzan Mohammad Irfan Momin in 2021 regarding a credit card application. Little did she know that this professional interaction would lead to a nightmare unfolding over the subsequent months.

Ansari Fauzan Mohammad Irfan Momin not only obtained a credit card through the victim but also initiated persistent contact through calls and messages on WhatsApp. Initially, their communication seemed innocuous, as the victim maintained professional courtesy due to their prior business interaction.

However, the situation took a dark turn when the victim found herself in a financial bind in 2021, needing to pay her younger brother’s school fees. She borrowed Rs. 4000 from Ansari Fauzan Mohammad Irfan Momin, with the understanding that it was a loan. Despite returning a portion of the amount in subsequent months, the accused allegedly shifted his focus from financial matters to personal ones.

Expressing a desire to marry the victim, Ansari Fauzan Mohammad Irfan Momin consistently pressured her to meet him, a proposition the victim adamantly refused. Disturbingly, when the victim attempted to return the borrowed money, Ansari Fauzan Mohammad Irfan Momin insisted on marriage instead.

Expressing an unsettling desire to marry the victim, Ansari Fauzan Mohammad Irfan Momin relentlessly pressured her to meet him. Despite her consistent refusals, he insisted on a face-to-face meeting, going as far as suggesting a meeting in a hotel room. The situation worsened when Momin began sending explicit and unwanted pornographic videos starting in 2022.

He asked her to get naked and Video Call him, or else he threatened to circulate her photograph and number telling people that she is into prostitution. Left with no option, the victim video-called Ansari Fauzan Mohammad Irfan Momin. In the next few days, he sent screenshots and screen recording videos of her nude video call to the victim, blackmailing and threatening her to marry him.

In a harrowing statement given to the Vanrai Police Station, the victim detailed the extent of the accused’s threats, claiming that Ansari Fauzan Mohammad Irfan Momin insisted on her conversion to Islam and forced marriage under the threat of leaking explicit content. The accused allegedly invoked religious sentiment, stating, “You are poor, marry me, and I will change your life. Mohammad Paigambar says always help the poor. What’s there in your Hindu Religion?”

The Vanrai Police Station is actively investigating the case, and legal proceedings are anticipated to bring the accused to justice. This disturbing incident highlights the vulnerability of individuals, especially women, in the face of exploitation and coercion, even within ostensibly professional settings.
